crafty … watercolor birthday crowns
You know when you see something and think … Yup, I’ making that. That is exactly what happened after seeing these adorable DIY lace crowns over at one of my favorite blogs (Dear Lillie). It was an easy sell for my birthday girl …
Me … “Do you want to wear a crown on your birthday?”
Birthday Girl … “Um, yeah” (in a snarky, know-it-all voice)
After a short time-out for snarkiness (probably not a word), we started the crown making. Using the tutorial from the inspiration as my guide, my assistant and I decided to paint the lace first …
We let them air dry and then sprinkled a little glitter (which we did outside so as to not glitter my kitchen in the process) …
Ava wanted a rainbow crown for herself. She painted a pale blue crown for the rest of her guests. Such an easy craft when you have a little helper … and it turns out beautiful!
The full tutorial over at Dear Lillie here. I used fabric stiffener instead of mod podge and it worked great. This is a must try craft for every little girl … perfect for birthdays or just a casual dress up day!
