crafty: breezeway organization

A few weeks back, I had the opportunity to review a product from CSN.  Just so happened, I was in the market for a rug for our breezeway that goes to the garage.  CSN has an amazing number of rugs so I had lots to choose from.  In the end, I chose this one

by Dash and Albert Rugs in a black and white diamond pattern…I love it!

The rug inspired me to finally organize this  poor little neglected space.  I really needed a place for my kids to put their papers and a bulletin board for photos, party invites, coupons, etc.  I am completely OCD about my kitchen countertops and the paper piles were getting out of control!

I have a thing for vintage-y looking metal baskets and these from Ballard Designs were perfect…

I gathered my supplies…

  • my new metal baskets
  • bulletin board
  • my new key rack
  • my husband/hanger of all stuff on walls

and here is how it turned out…

I already had the bulletin board and I made the key holder.  I will share how to make your own key holder soon!  I was going to take pictures before it got inundated with papers and stuff but it just didn’t happen.  My kids were so excited to put their papers in their very own baskets. I was equally as excited to have a place for them to put their stuff!

I just found your blog from the DID website and happened upon this post – I put up a hook rack this very morning for my kids’ coats, backpacks, etc. and was thinking I’d love to have some hanging baskets to collect their binders and papers. What luck! Headed over to Ballard Designs right now – thank you for sharing!
