my day and a sneak peek …

I had so many things on my To Do List today … and then the school called, sick kid … or so I thought.  I picked up the “sick kid” from school and brought him home.  I was just about to get him snuggled up in front of the TV with a good movie, when he skipped in the kitchen …

Fake Sick Day Play by Play …

the faker … “Hey, do we have any snacks?”.

Me … “Ummm … Aren’t you sick … upset stomach.”

the faker … “Well, I am still hungry.  Do you want to play a game?”

Me … “It’s 9:15 … too early for a snack since you ate breakfast an hour and a half ago and your stomach hurts … or does it?”

the faker … “It’s feeling better now.”

Me … “What? Are you sick?.” (Keep in mind we have only been home from school for 15 minutes.)

the faker … “I was and now I am better.”

Me … “Oh no you didn’t!  Go get the cleaning supplies.  I have some work for you.”

The faker did ask me to take him back to school two times today.  I refused

This picture makes more sense to me now …

That was my Monday in a nutshell.

a washer surprise …

I found these little guys in the washer over the weekend …

I am just thankful they didn’t make through to the dryer.  That would have been a mess!!!

coordinating outfits …

I have made several coordinating outfits for twins and siblings this year for the holidays.  This set is by far my favorite!

For the boys…

For the little girl …

I love how all of the tees are completely different … but still coordinate by using the green polka dot fabric.

a holiday show …

I did a holiday show a couple weeks ago with one of my closest friends, Lyn.  She snapped a few shots of my Modern Frills display … which she helped to set up.  It turned out super cute … mainly because Lyn’s house is so darn ADORABLE!

It was a fun night with friends, wine and a little shopping …

I made a few household items for the show … wreaths, tea towels and a few cake stands.  My favorite cake stand …

It didn’t sell.  I was secretly hoping that it wouldn’t sell as I LOVE it so much …. I have a cake stand problem!  If you are local (Dallas) and want to pick up, I have a few of the cake stands left … $18 for the small, $30 for the large.

Lyn tried to snap a few photos of me.  I was being a bit camera shy…

I picked up a couple fabulous items from Lyn’s shop, Chalkydoodles.  Stop by and check out her goods!

{party feature} … Jack’s Firetruck Party

Last week, I woke up to a sweet message from one of my customers, Kerri … such a great way to start the day!  She ordered a Firetruck tee for her son’s birthday party.  She loved the tee and so did the birthday boy.  Kerri sent me a link to the party pictures and I knew I had to share them.

What a precious birthday boy …

Kerri asked me to put Jack’s age in the center of the star on the back.  I love the way it turned out!

Here are a few shots of the snacks and sweets…

My favorite treats are definitely the matches…

Here is a picture of Kerri and her birthday boy ….

I am guessing Jack had a good time!

A huge THANK YOU to Kerri for sharing her party.

my finest moment(s) …

1. My 8 year old abbreviated medicine to meds. in his homework.  “What … that’s what you call them.”  His teacher didn’t see it that way.

2. Ava: “I love you more than Abby.” Abby is our dog.

3. Ava and I were on a recent mommy/daughter date night at her favorite restaurant, Fishrock…also known as Rockfish.  It was raining and we had to make a run for the car as I was not prepared with an umbrella …

Me … “Hurry up and hop in the car”

Ava … (as she climbs in the car) “Dammit, my feet got wet.”

Me … “Ummm, what did you say?”

Ava … “Dammit, my feet got wet.”

I was too afraid to ask her where on earth she heard that word … as I already know the answer to that.  They really do listen to EVERY word you say!  My sisters only comment was, “at least she used it correctly”.

Happy Friday!
