I love these invitations…the perfect mix of girly and vintage!

Invitations are hard for me.  I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted but I knew it had to have something to do with Strawberry Lemonade…a favorite of my birthday girl.  Stefanie, of Anna and Blue Paperie, took my ideas and created this perfectly sweet invitation….somehow she knew exactly what I wanted!

“Basically, I have always loved design and had an interest in home decor. Even as far back as elementary school, there was interest. I actually, would wake up in the middle of the night and decide to move things around my room (like all of the furniture) and surprise my mom in the morning. It wasn’t until my mid 30’s that I began to really hone in on my design asthetic. Domino magazine was my all time favorite inspiration from print. I still mourn it! I have almost every back issue and the pages are tattered. My favorite” take away” from that publication was the art of juxtoposition…almost every style can be mixed with a modern counterpart to be made current and interesting. The web site is a first step in the direction of endless possibilities…we’ll see what’s next!”

I wasn’t exactly sure the the curtains would get made and hung this weekend.  I figured if I blogged about it, I would make sure it happened…and it worked!

I am so excited as they really transform the room!  I am not going to try to do a full tutorial as there are lots of great ones out there…here and here.  If you can sew a straight line…you CAN make curtains.  I spent about 3.5 hours making these from start to finish.

So excited to check these off of my To Do List…

I happen to have 6 yards left over of this fabric and have had it sitting in a closet for two years.  I have finally decided to use it in our upstairs living room.  Please don’t ask why I have 6 yards left over…I was not a happy girl when I realized how much left over fabric I had at $20 a yard.  It all worked out in the end as 6 yards is exactly the amount I need to make two curtain panels…Yay!

The exciting part is that my husband has no idea about these plans…and he is going to be my helper! Lucky Guy!!!
