crafty: union jack artwork

When I saw this dresser on Miss Mustard Seed

I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I have had this painting stuffed in a closet for quite some time now…

I like it , but I don’t love it.  I tried it upstairs and it didn’t do anything for the space.  After seeing the Union Jack dresser, I knew what I was going to do with my neglected flower painting.  I used paint colors that I already had on hand…grey, black and white.  After bribing my “help”, the painting began…

Painting the Union Jack isn’t hard but it does require lots of taping, painting, letting it dry…repeat, repeat again, and again…

The original flower painting had a texture to it and it looks great with the union jack design.  It took this little sad space from this…

to this…

Now for the accessories…

happy valentine’s day…

I recently participated in a Valentine’s Swap organized by The Pink Couch.  I had so much fun creating my valentine so I thought I would share what I made with you…

I am not a “scrapbooker” so I was a little nervous and intimidated!  Everyone participating is so talented!

I decided to use a combination of fabric, paper and ribbons with a ring binder clip to hold it all together!

I love the look of stitching fabric to paper…so I did a lot of that!  I also created a little fabric “letter”…

and a few more close-ups…

I hope you have a very happy Valentine’s Day!!!

a ladybug party…

Glory (…of Glorious Treats) emailed me a few months ago about her daughter’s birthday party.  Absolutely LOVE getting those kinds of emails as I have been a fan of Glory’s blog and her creations for some time.  I had so much fun creating Joy’s birthday shirt!

I had a feeling the party was going to be fabulous…and Glory did not disappoint!

I am guessing that smile means the birthday girl had fun too…

The cookies (by Sweet Sugar Belle) are amazing…almost too pretty to eat!

Stop by Glorious Treats to see the rest of the party photos as well as the list of vendors she used!
