they say it’s your birthday…

Yesterday, Ava Kate and I headed off to the park.  GOAL…to get at least one good photo for her birthday invitation. I was ready….pink knotted tutu (from Simply Sweet),  modern butterfly tank, silver sparkly shoes and most importantly… candy.

Ava is not an easy subject…300 photos with only one direct look at the camera while smiling.   I did get several that show her personality, though….

…and my personal fave

i need…

There are many reasons why I am sad when my husband goes on one of his trips to London.  In his mind, it is because I miss him…terribly.  I do miss him….that is not a lie.  But the truth is….I really want to go to Squint Limited.

And pick up one of these…

It doesn’t really match my decor.  But for that matter, neither does this…

And I want it too.

now that i have the invitation…

I just have to convince Ava Kate that a party at home with these invitations…

…is way better than a certain location with games, pizza and a giant mouse.

Don’t worry…after she sees my other ideas, it won’t be hard!

crafty: fabric initial notecards

Make a personalized gift…that is cute AND super easy…

Supplies:

  1. blank notecards
  2. fabric scraps
  3. fusible webbing
  4. letter stencils
  5. iron
  6. scissors
  7. a sweet friend having a birthday…or even better…you can make them for yourself!

Note: I make my own letter stencils by printing the size initial I need on card stock…cut it out and you have your very own stencil.

Step 1: Iron the fusible webbing to the backside of your fabric scraps…the package will have detailed instructions if you haven’t ever used this stuff before.  You will quickly become addicted to it!

Step 2: Trace the letter to the paper side of the fabric/webbing sheet.  Be sure to trace the stencil/letter in reverse.

Step 3: Cut out the letters.

Step 4: Place it on your notecard and iron lightly on a low setting.  It will only take a second or two to melt the glue and adhere your letter to the paper!

There are so many options…shapes, names, animals…maybe a mini cake stand!!!

First…let me say that my blog is really not going to be a “Giveaway” blog.  That being said…when a giveaway is this good, I just have to share.

Dolce Vita Mia has the most perfect hair accesories I have ever seen.  They are sweet, vintage inspired….I adore each and every one.  Mia from Dolce Vita Mia is giving away a $25 credit to her store on TomKat Studio’s blog.  Yup…that’s right…better hop on over and enter before it’s too late!

A sweet friend of mine has a little girl…a very girly little girl full of pink and dolls.  This little girl needed a party dress…

It’s a mini cake stand…

with a heart on the back…

Of course, I had to make one for Ava Kate…

Happy Monday!
